Detroit Lakes 6-17-19

Hans and Nettie were kind enough to let us camp next to their cabin at Height of Land Lake again.

I had fun watching the families of geese, the first evening, while Dave and Hans got caught up on all of the things that men and cousins need to discuss.

Dave and Hans have some remodeling projects. They installed a new counter top and sink in the kitchen and a new storm door. Both projects turned out great! Nettie loves her new kitchen.

A couple of days later, Dave helped Dean install a new storm door on Dean and Karen’s cabin.

We went out on the lake in the pontoon one evening, watching the loons. I think we saw 7 pairs but no babies. We aren’t sure if the eagle got to them all or if some weather situation destroyed all of the eggs.

We’ve spent our afternoons and evenings playing games such as Pegs N Jokers, Sevens and Phase 10. We also enjoyed watching all of the water fowl and beautiful sunsets.

Friends and relatives from Mississippi were here on Saturday. Dave grilled ribs and we had a fun supper at Hans’ and Nettie’s cabin. The guests from down south were Jane, Tom, Garret and Derek. Dean and Karen joined us.

One Last Beautiful Sunset
