We moved Mill Creek Campground after the family reunion. We wanted to spend more time in the Cleveland area.
This park is beautiful and peaceful!
Our flowers are finally starting to grow and spread.
Our weather apps are not indicating any rain at all. Hmmmm…
The next day, we took a bike ride through Amish country. The rolling hills and peaceful pastures make beautiful scenery. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day for a ride. It was noon by the time we hit Berlin Center so we headed for a restaurant, Boyd & Wurthmann Restaurant. A sign on the door told us they did not accept credit cards. Neither Dave or I had thought to bring along cash (Duh…) so we found an ATM. We had to pay a fee to withdraw money, for the first time in our travels.
Lunch was a shared chicken dinner, and very delicious. We chatted with an Amish gentleman, seated across the isle from us.
I wanted to buy an Amish quilt and was almost prepared to pay the price but they were just too expensive. Prices were between $1,200 and $1,600! There were some cheaper ones but they were factory made knock-offs and I was not interested.
A rain cloud passed over us so we spent some time in a little shop, waiting for it to stop. We found these signs, which say what we feel about camping.
We bought this one, and it rests on top of the slideout over our dining table.
One the way back to the campsite, we got caught in another heavy rain. It would not have been so bad, but there was road construction with one lane open. We had to wait for our turn to pass, so got a little wet. Oh well, we didn’t melt! We stopped for a beer at Leroys Place in Wooster, to dry out a little.
We spent the 4th of July holiday with my niece Michelle Koewler, her husband Corey and daughters Kayla and Faith. That was such a fun day. Michelle made a yummy meal of BBQ ribs. Afterwards, we spent the afternoon and evening playing card and dice games.
On our way to Michelle’s house, we took a small detour to Homerville, in honor of our friend Jim Holmstead (Homer), back in St. Peter.
When Corey and Michelle found out we hope to stay in Texas this winter, they told us about an awesome gas station chain that we have to find, Buc-ee’s.
