Driving the Blue Ridge Parkway after we left Banner Elk, on our way to Maggie Valley, we stopped to see some waterfalls that we had heard about. We parked the camper to take the hike. WHY was I wearing flip flops and Dave wearing sandals???
The Blue Ridge Parkway is gorgeous.
Another panaramic view.
Parked by another stream, closer than ever.
Hillbilly Campground is a small, crowded campground but one of our favorites, probably because of Richard and Stacey, the owners.
Looking out our back window.
Friendly neighbors!!
Wheels of Time museum. This was mostly motorcycles, back to WWI but also some cars and even an airplane!
Narrow gravel road traveled to the Cataloochee Valley to see the wild elk in their natural habitat. This was definitely not a road to take the bike.
The elk have recently shed their antlers and they have not grown back yet. They are also just losing their winter coat so some looked a little scuzzy!
