Our first ride was a very challenging ride along the Crabtree Mountain Road, a very narrow curvy back road.
On our second ride we rode through the southern most portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway (touted as the best section) to Hwy 441 that passes through the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. After passing through Gatlinburg, TN we rode along the eastern boundaries of the park.
One day took a short ride to view Soco waterfall.
We stopped in a few bars, as usual and met some very interesting people and ate some really good food. At Boojum, we chatted with Tim and ate some pretzel coated cheese curds. On another visit a few days later, we had HUGE jalapeno poppers wrapped in a full slice of bacon.
It was chilly at the peak.
Soco Falls from the observation boardwalk.
The falls viewed from the bottom. Actually two falls coming together at the bottom. It was so steep going down that there were guide ropes along the way to hang on to. Jo watched Dave’s progress from the top.
Me at the bottom.
If you look very close you may see Jo on the boardwalk above!
