This was our first stay in a Good Sam campsite, Jolly Acres. Wow, it is the best maintained campground I have ever seen and still fit into our budget.
Again, we planned to work a lot but WiFi was almost impossible and even our hotspots were super slow so that was a disappointment.
We were both in need of hair cuts (and a bit more for Jo), so I called around and found a place that had openings for the next day. She would fit in a couple of people just passing through. Carolina Cuts is really a cut above many salons, did a great job, quickly and cost about what we are used to paying in Minnesota.
After we left the shop, we intended to head to a local bar Dave had found while he waited for me to finish but it was too early for a brew. Instead, we decided to wander through the National Grits Festival, just getting started that day. I thought a Grits festival sounded very funny. It was a typical (almost) small carnival with LOTS of fair food. We thought about returning for eats the next day but never did. The part that was different from what we normally see is that there was no beer garden. I guess we are in the Bible Belt!
Eventually we got to Skynyards, the local pub Dave had seen, and enjoyed a few different beers along with some wings which were our supper. Another couple came along and asked to share our table. They are from upstate New York and were heading home after wintering in Florida. They were in no hurry to get home. The blizzard hitting Minnesota as I write this, will hit their home in two days. We enjoyed their company very much.
